If you want to run an external reader with TR4030/TR4050 for time attendance purpose; for example, TR4030/TR4050 is installed outside the door (for In) and the external reader is installed inside the door (for Out)

TR4030/TR4050 allows you to connect the external reader via RS232 connection. Note that the external reader must support RS232 interface and its baud rate must support 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600 or 19200. Connect the external reader to the “Scanner” port of TR4030/TR4050 (see the picture as below).
